Birdie Bag is ready for Twestival 2010!

The Birdie Bag for the KK Twestival 2010 has landed!

It’s not often that we get to tell the story of a bag but with the custom-designed Birdie Bag, there’s the tree, a chirpy bird in the spirit of Twitter, and the earth in a cool concoction of cotton, corduroy and natural canvas in a vibrant mesh of colours. ( I think there’s enough Cs in there! :)) A ONE-OFF bag specially made for this event, it’s a bag that tells the story of our relationship with the earth and the immediate world around us, and reminds us of what we can do, no matter how small a gesture,  to help it.

Metro Retro

It’s been a very encouraging beginning to The Bag Bar and we thank everyone for checking the website! Our future plan for the website is to run it as a blog as well so you can check back and stay up to date with what we’re up to, bag-wise. Especially when there are new fabrics arriving, we just wanna shout it to the world, we just can’t help sharing some fabric joy! Don’t forget that you can always leave a comment (or two!) on any blog topics that strike your fancy.

Here’s a mini-peek at a Mini-Melanie Bag I’m working on. I just loooooove this retro pink print. I’m pairing it with pink corduroy, which I happen to have. You can’t find it for hook or crook where we live so I’ve been hoarding it in my fabric stash and I’m finally getting to use it.

it's an all-pink galore!

My favourite part of making a bag that requires a button closure is choosing the right button. It can make or break the look, really!

Gorgeous pink fabrics get a gorgeous pink retro-look button. Ain't it just cute?!

Will post some photos up as soon as I finish it!
