2010Yolanda’s Birthday Bag
We had a special commission from Jim, who wanted to gift good friend Yolanda with a TBB bag for her birthday in September because “she’s always wanted one of your bags!”. Awwww…..
We’re always nervous about making bags for friends we know, there’s always that added self-imposed ‘oh, what if they won’t like it?’ kind of pressure. Yolanda put us at ease though, requesting for only 2 things: that it be earthy, and has an attached pouch. She gave us a free reign because “I trust you guys!”. Thanks Yolanda! *beam*
Free reign we took indeed. We used a fabric with large black velvet floral prints on a bed of hessian-like background and worked in a very contrasting red batik print on indian cotton. The external looked tactile and rough but was actually quite soft to the touch.
The result? Yolanda loved her bag! Success, phew!
